Githara & Associates was officially registered as an independent law firm in January 2010, and traces its history to 1998 when its Principal Partner was admitted to the bar

Within the years we have existed as an independent law firm, but also cumulatively in the history we have had with our clients, we have made a name as providers of efficient, effective and quality legal services to a growing list of satisfied clientele.

Our core areas of expertise include, banking law, corporate law, commercial law, probate, labour law, real estate, civil litigation, arbitration and mediation.

Our clientele includes the Government, Constitutional and Statutory Commissions, Banks, Insurance Companies, International Organizations, Real Estate Developers, Religious Institutions, Private companies and individuals.

To ensure that we render effective service to clients, the firm has an Advocate as the contact person in charge of each brief or section of client matters but with the synergy of the whole firm brought to bear on each of the briefs during sessions when each of these matters are discussed and the way forward agreed upon.

Our Team

WILLIAM C. GITHARA.

William Githara is the principal partner in the firm. He is a seasoned advocate with over Twenty (20) years post qualification experience having been admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 1998. He holds  a Master of Laws (LL.M) (International Trade and Investments Law) (2006) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B (Hons) Upper Second Class (1997) from the University of Nairobi.

Githara manages a mixed-portfolio practice and is at home in dispute resolution as well as commercial and property dockets. He is a seasoned litigator and handles complex commercial cases, land disputes and probate matters. In property, he was a managing partner for six years in a law firm that largely dealt in property transactions and he has extensive experience in conveyance of property including structuring, advisory and execution of large property projects.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) both at its UK head office and in the Kenya Branch. He is a seasoned arbitrator having a special expertise  in Construction Arbitrations and acts as both Arbitrator as well as Party representative in diverse arbitrations. He is an accredited mediator of the Institute specialising  in Commercial mediations.

DANIEL WAMAI

Wamai is a partner at the firm. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa,Upper Second Division. Further, he possesses a Master of Laws (LL. M.) degree in Governance and Democracy as well as a Diploma in Criminology and Social Order both from the University of Nairobi . He has a passion for Corporate and Commercial law matters while also keen about dispute resolution generally and especially civil litigation, and arbitration.

PURITY WANGU KARIUKI

Purity holds a Bachelor of laws (Honors) degree from Kisii university and a post graduate diploma from the Kenya school of law. She is a member of the law society of Kenya and the Data privacy and Governance society of Kenya.

Purity is an associate in dispute resolution department. She has experience in data protection, employment and labor disputes and Commercial disputes

SHARON MUTHONI KINYUA

Sharon Muthoni Kinyua is a skilled accounting professional with extensive experience in financial management, reporting, and compliance. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management (Finance) and a Diploma in Business Management and is currently advancing her CPA certification.

Sharon plays a key role in managing payroll, statutory obligations, and client accounts with precision and efficiency. Her strong understanding of accounting’s role in operational and strategic decision-making enables her to collaborate effectively with management to enhance financial reporting and compliance processes.

MERCY KAGURE MWANGI

Mercy is the office administrator  in the firm. She is in charge of administrative matters in the firm including day to day management of office affairs, general hospitality and care of the staff and client liaison. She is also in charge of records management and ensuring elaborate and effective physical as well as e-filing in office.

HARON MUINUKI

Haron is the law firm’s Principal Clerk and Registry Administrator. He has extensive experience in the court system, lands registries, government offices  and general legal practice. He manages the operations of the firm at the court registries as well as the  land Registries and other government offices which is a key component in the firms delivery of services to its clients. This assists in ensuring due dispatch in filing of documents and execution of court processes as well as  carrying out searches,  obtaining relevant clearances and consents and registration of documents as required in property transactions. He is also a registered process server of the High Court of Kenya duly authorized to serve court process.
